Significance Adjustment
Throughout Sort'd Merchandiser you'll see an option to enable or disable Significance Adjustment.
Significance Adjustment is a way to limit insignificant metrics from affecting Insights and your merchandising decisions.
Take two products:
Product A: 1 view, 1 purchase
Product B: 300 views, 150 purchases
From these metrics, Product B appears to have a strong purchase conversion rate, if you were to pick a product to promote, you'd likely pick Product B. However, Product B has a conversion rate of 50%, while Product A has 100%.
Significance Adjustment reduces the performance of products with metrics too low to be called statistically significant. After enabling Significance Adjustment, Product A conversion rate may be reduced (e.g. 10%) while Product B remains the same.
Enable Significance Adjustment to help you make more impactful merchandising decisions, disable it when you want only true and accurate metrics.
Collection Analytics
- Performance Score: Sort'd Merchandiser analyses all of your collections' metrics and produces a score from 0 - 100 based on this collection's performance compared to all your other products.
- Collection Views: The number of views of this collection page
- Collection Click Through Rate: The percentage of people who view this collection page and then click through to a product
- Product Card Engagement/Collection Engagement: This number refers to the number of products that were viewed on a collection page, adjusted by the size of the collection and number of views of the collection. The higher the number, the more product cards viewed by users on this collection.
- Purchases: The number of people who viewed this collection page and then went on to make any purchase
- Weighted Purchases: The number of people who viewed this collection page and then went on to make any purchase, divided by the total number of collections they viewed. If this collection was one of many that were viewed before purchasing, the number will be lower.
Some Notes on Analytics
- All analytics are unique to sessions. If a user completes an action more than once on the same product or collection, Sort'd Merchandiser purposefully only counts the first time. This is to stop erroneous users skewing results.
- Cart adds are exempt of this and are always tracked, if enabled.
- Once a user completely leaves the site, then returns, this is counted as a new session and all metrics are tracked as normal again.
- Analytics tracking is dependent on how a user access your website. From certain browsers to ad blockers, there are a number of ways users can prevent tracking. Sort'd Merchandiser uses non-cookie based tracking, which circumvents many of these limits, however results can be affected due to these factors.
- Analytics requires the Sort'd Merchandiser theme app extension to be enabled. This can be done on your theme settings.
